John Martyn's cover "Can't Turn Back the Years"

I understand that this was just released this year, but does anyone know if Phil actually recorded those back-up vocals recently?

I've been listening to it and I can't tell if he just used the original backup voices from 1993... and if not, did he record those vocals this year?

I just want to know what year Phil's voice is from :) his voice is so timeless, it's hard to tell!
