Ordering DVDs and VHS tapes

PLEASE NOTE:

UNLESS SPECIFIED, ALL DVDs and VHS tapes are PAL/Region 2 format suitable for Europe, the Middle East and certain other territories ONLY (for more details go here).

Though they may play on any PC they will NOT perform on a Region 1 (North America) DVD player or an NTSC television.

PLEASE NOTE: This on-line store is not like Amazon.com. The 'staff' consists of two people. One who processes the orders and generates labels and stuff (and, in his spare time, runs this website) and another who puts the items in boxes and gets them in the post. This latter person is also Tony Smith's assistant who, in her spare time, organises things like the release of Phil Collin's new album. You will, therefore, understand that, sometimes, other activities get in the way of sending out orders and replying to enquiries. We do our best in the time we have.

So, when you place an order you will receive an email giving details of the order with the line 'NEW ORDER (Deferred)'. This means we have not taken any money from your credit card but we have received the order. When we have processed the order you will receive another email with 'DEFERRED ORDER RELEASED'. That means we have got authorisation from the bank to charge your card. Your order will then be shipped within 3 WORKING days. For delivery times AFTER that please see below.

We are trying to keep the gap between date of receiving orders and date of processing orders to no more than 5 working days.
PAYING BY CREDIT CARD
ORDERING
When you decide to buy something from the Hit & Run Shop, first of all you will be asked to select the product you want and the quantity of each product you require. The individual cost of the products and the total value of your order will be shown. If you want to see the value in either US dollars or Euros, we can do that. We can, though, only accept credit card orders in UK pounds sterling. We hope to expand that soon but it will take a while.

THE CHECKOUT
Once you've decided on your order, you will go to the checkout form. Here you need to provide:
  • your personal details
  • email address (so we can send confirmation of your order and also contact you quickly of there is a problem)
  • delivery address
  • details of the cost of the postage and packing of your order
CONFIRMING YOUR ORDER
A confirmation email will be sent to you, giving the details of the products ordered and the address to which they should be sent. This is the only information we at Hit & Run are sent.

POSTING AND DELIVERY
 All products are in stock. All overseas post is by airmail. We cannot guarantee delivery times but typically items take:

7 working days from date of order processing in the UK
10 working days from date of order processing to Europe
10-14 working days from date of order processing to North America
10-14 working days from date of order processing to the rest of the world

Please note, these are WORKING days. Items ordered after 9am GMT on a Friday will not be processed until the following Monday at the earliest.

  • NEITHER YOUR ADDRESS DETAILS NOR YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER ARE STORED ON OUR SERVER. NO ONE CAN ACCESS THEM AT GENESIS-MUSIC.COM. THESE DETAILS ARE ENCRYPTED AND PROTECTED BY THE OFF-SITE SECURE SERVER.

THE SECURE SERVER
When you have provided all of the information to process your order, you click on the 'Send the order' button. At this point you enter a secure server where you will be asked for your credit card details. The secure server we use is not part of Hit & Run or Genesis-music.com and is located on a completely separate system. All personal details given, therefore, are protected by this secure server.

Our secure server is provided by a UK-based company called Secpay. They are one of a few such companies listed by HSBC Merchant Services (part of HSBC Bank) as having the levels of security they require to process on-line orders.

When you enter the Secpay pages you will be asked to give your name, credit card type, credit card number and card expiry date (please be accurate). If you request authorisation of the transaction, clearance is normally given within a few seconds.
LEGAL MATTERS

  • If we suspect that a credit card is being used fraudulently, we will forward the details to the relevant authorities for their action.
  • Hit & Run Music reserves the right to take legal action against anyone attempting to obtain goods without the intention of paying for them or through other fraudulent means.
  • Hit & Run Music also reserves the right to take legal action against anyone making unauthorised copies of any goods obtained from the company.
